Integrated technology roadmap for Nanotechnologies in Water and Wastewater Treatment

The case highlights the use of roadmapping techniques for emerging technologies from a technological, as well as a market
perspective; the integration of technology and market roadmaps; how such roadmaps can be included in the process of strategic decision-making at different levels; and how such roadmaps can be used for different purposes while ensuring a sustainable innovation flow for specific application fields.
The integrated roadmap determines a set of strategic goals for technology markets and develops measures to achieve these goals by taking into account alternative scenarios (or paths), and then choosing the most effective one. The roadmap is also aimed at the implementation of a co-ordination mechanism of stakeholder actions in order to achieve the strategic goals.
