RIBRI - Radical Innovation Breakthrough Inquirer EU

On behalf of the European Commission, an international Foresight team led by Fraunhofer ISI has investigated technical and social innovations that could radically change value chains in the coming years. The report of the Radical Innovation Breakthrough Inquirer (RIBRI) identifies 100 possible innovation breakthroughs in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics or biomedicine and gives indications on how the EU can prepare for them. For the search for radical innovations, a semi-automated process developed by the project team was used for the first time at EU level. The 100 Radical Innovation Breakthroughs (RIBs) studied include technical developments such as biodegradable sensors or 4D printing as well as social concepts such as basic income or the car-free city.
